I was always fairly active but didn’t start training seriously until 2012.

I don’t really have any goal setting techniques, but my short term goal is to always improve and learn. Long term goals are to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
How do you remain motivated? Any tips for anyone wanting to get in great
shape and or thinking about competing in your sport?
I remain motivated by surrounding myself with great, like minded people. People who inspire me to improve and keep grinding.
Tips that I have is to just make a commitment to yourself, set a goal and get grinding towards it. If you stumble that’s alright, get back up educate yourself and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
How do you keep track of your progress?
I keep a daily journal of my weight and macronutrients consumed during the day. I also take progress pictures once a week to compare with.
What types of cardio have worked best for you?
I really don’t care for cardio, so I try to switch it up as often as I can. But what works best for me is the stationary bike or running on the treadmill. But when my calves need a workout I grab my skipping rope and go for it!
My favorite healthy recipe is actually pretty simple. My favorite food combination is BBQ chicken and baked sweet potato.
What does your diet consist off?
My diet consists of mostly normal foods, chicken and bison, fresh vegetables and fruits. I work away from home and find myself on the road a lot so I try to keep it simple.

I have a terrible sweet tooth, but I try my best to avoid the sweets. I deal with the cravings mostly by increasing my water intake and to keep my mind off of it I keep busy.
What are your top 3 exercises?
I don’t really have a favorite or top 3 favorite exercises, I really enjoy my time in the gym and the people I encounter there. But my favorite group of muscles to train would be my legs.

I listen to music mostly only when I do cardio. I like to keep it simple with 80-90’s rock&roll and mix it up with some new country.
In terms of your training schedule, how many days a week do you train and
what would be a typical training regimen for you?
My training regiment is quite hectic, Cardio 3-6 times a week depending on my condition & competition schedule. Weight training is 5 times a week broken down into different muscle groups/day.
Do you have any role models or athletes you look up too?
A role model to me is anyone who gives their all, if you’re in the gym and giving 100% you are a role model to me. Keep grinding! But a few people I really look up to would be John Heart Wnbf pro and 2013 Mr America overall winner and Matt Park Wnbf Pro & INBF Canada President. And let’s not forget the ladies also, Heather Drake Wnbf Pro 2014 WNBF Pro Figure World Overall Champion & Charina Fargeson 2014 WNBF Ms. Fit Body Overall Champion.
What do you enjoy the most about competing in the heavyweight division?
I really enjoy just being in the action, seeing the people that I haven’t seen for awhile. But the best part it to see the improvements I have made for myself, because I am my biggest competition.
