Why I don’t recommend you follow a training program from a bodybuilding magazine or a static training program from most “coaches”.
So everyone wants to know what the secret is to training or bodybuilding. I think Dorian Yates said it best when he said it all comes down to recuperation. Makes sense since that is when you’re hormonally in a repair mode.
Understanding where you currently are is going to be one of the most important parts in understanding what program is best for you. Are you a beginner, novice, intermediate, or advanced trained athlete? Not to mention how is your current body composition going to affect your current goals.
So there is clearly a lot to understand here so the answer would be to find a trainer who understands your training goals long term and not to mention can show you how he/she can periodize your training into what is called meso and micro cycles over the course of say 6 months to a year to reach your goal.
Another concept people lack the understanding of is that your body cannot just grow linearly it needs periods of deloading to speed up the recovery process so the muscles can super compensate to grow above and beyond what you thought was possible after pushing your limits to overreach. I’m afraid if you do not follow a well planned program will you constantly be plateauing and turn victim to false thoughts that the only way people are making better progress than you is by taking Performance-enhancing drugs, etc. Next thing you know you’re just turning into an ignorant person and joining the hater fan club and nobody wants to be a part of a club like that.
